How to Become a Car Hauler

If you intend to do Interstate transport, you need to get a DOT number and Motor Carrier (MC) authority from FMCSA, more information here:

You need $750,000 or $1,000,000 in general liability insurance depending on FMCSA requirements for the MC registration and brokers typically require enough cargo insurance to cover the full value of a load.
You also need a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for hauling a gross vehicle weight of 26,001 lbs. or more.
